About The Kindness Project

The Kindness Project is the creation and passion of Jennifer Cumins, who during her teens spent many hours in the company of a herd of horses. She came to understand the power of connection and all the lessons horses have to teach us. From developing communication, sharing space, respectful boundaries and the power of living in the now. Jennifer saw how horses are able to share energy between themselves, create a safe and regulated environment, support each other and how they discharge the energy from perceived life-threatening events. These experiences have created a life long passion for horses and for learning how to join the wisdom of horses with people who need them.

From the age of around 17 Jennifer knew there was power in connecting people with horses and decided that somewhere in her future this work would become apart of her life.

As life went on Jennifer eventually found her way back to learning at the age of 36 and has never looked back. Through the journey of studying she found herself being pulled to pursue her passion of horses and the possibility of helping people. In 2014 she decided that the time was right and over the next 6 months packed up and left her home in Bunbury and moved back to Perth to create The Kindness Project.

The Kindness Project provides people with the opportunity to come and experience the peacefulness of nature while being enveloped in the safety and nurture of the herd. As Jennifer's work has evolved over the past few years she now offers peiec Transfomation Sessions as the main part of her work with the herd and clinic space.

Jennifer takes clients on a Transformation Journey explored over three powerful sessions. This allows for the greatest amount of life moments to be released from within the Five layers of self. This is a gentle process that allows a person to restore peace, free themselves from limiting beliefs and behaviours and to release life moments that have held them bound. Following the first 3 Transformation sessions many clients opt to have regular sessions to continue their journey. While some continue with fortnightly or monthly sessions, others find that as their awareness grows they are able to feel life moments coming to the surface of their layers and choose to do sessions as needed.
The Kindness Project is located at Eagle Vale Farm in Bullsbrook, Western Australia. It is perched along the stunning Avon River and takes in sweeping views of the Avon Valley. It is 150 acres of mostly natural land and is home not only the beautiful Kindness Herd but also a variety of local flora and fauna, including a large amount of kangaroos, wild goats, and even the odd echidna and emu.

It is important to Jennifer that her herd live in the most natural way possible. The beauty of their home means they live in a natural environment with room to move, they live on a natural diet and have access to natural water sources. The horses are hard fed a small meal each day to encourage them to come in, this means their health and well being is checked on daily and they can then be invited into smaller paddocks to work. This invitation to connect with clients means they have the freedom of choice to interact, engage and connect. This makes the work we do all the more special. The horses are free from tack during sessions and are completely at liberty. For the most part the herd are unridden and only handled when required. This freedom to choose allows each of them to decide if they wish to come into our smaller paddocks during sessions or not, whichever they choose is always perfect.

The Kindness Herd consists of 9 horses and ponies. Our herd leader is Kouri an Arab gelding, our lead mare is Miss BJ a Waler who came from the wilds of northern WA. Then as the hierarchy goes down we have CC a Quater Horse mare, Pepper a Standardbred gelding, Mellie a Stock Horse part Unicorn mare, Mr M an Australian Riding pony cross gelding, Morris a Welsh B Gelding and two beautiful miniatures horses, the ever cheeky Sam-a-lama-bam-bam and the beautiful Miss Honey Dew.

The wisdom and learning provided by the herd has become an integral part each of Jennifer’s sessions. Wether you choose to enjoy the company of the herd, have a session in the office or via video/phone call, you will be sure to have a unique and transformative experience. If you wish to have sessions for your animals you are able to attend Eagle Vale Farm or Jennifer will travel to your location if needed. It is Jennifer's wish to be available to anyone who could benefit from connecting and working with herself and the herd.

About Jennifer Cumins

Jennifer has pursued a variety of educational pathways and has continuously followed where the learning resonated for her personally and professionally. When both of her children started school Jennifer returned to study in the field of equine body work. Over a two year period she studied Quantum Touch, Reiki I &II, Equine Anatomy, Equine Massage, Equine Myofacial Release I & II, Equine Red Light Therapy, and also followed an interest in Essential Oils. Where she pursed study in the area of Equine Aromatherapy and Equine Raindrop Technique, she regularly incorporates Young Living oils into her care routine for self and for her horses.

During the study of body work with horses Jennifer soon discovered how the body stores the energy of undischarged trauma. She also discovered it could be released with a combination of energy, oils and body work. It was during this time she came across Equine Facilitated Learning and with curiosity decided to attend a local training. It became an opportunity she was glad she took as it has since become her connection to her passion and purpose and led her to creating The Kindness Project.

During this time she discovered how horses are able to assist and support humans to go through the release process of trauma. It has become a fascination for Jennifer and has guided her to more study and learning. This simple curiosity led her to become a qualified Equine Facilitated Learning Practitioner Level 1&2 with AEFL, the thirst for more knowledge led her to complete the Foundations and Individuals Training with Centre for Equine Experiential Learning®️. It was here she found the work of Dr Peter Levine and Somatic Experiencing®️. Inspired by the fast outcomes she decided to undertake the three years of Practitioner training in Somatic Experiencing®️ so she could offer a deeper sense of healing and a safe trauma informed space for her clients.

During this time she came across the work of Sandra J~Anandi Sano and peiec®️ International. After being curious about her own healing she went through a Transformational Journey and found the results and benefits so immense and powerful that she has since undertaken training and become a Level 1 peiec ®️ Practioner. Jennifer has now completed up to Module 7 in her training.

Since finding peiec®️ Jennifer has found a deep inner peace and calmness and she has also found a way to assist herself, her family, animals and also a gentle and peaceful way to further assist the process of deep healing and connection to self for her clients.

As with most people life is never straightforward or easy, there are always multiple traumas and accidents that happen along the way. As well as a few different traumas Jennifer also faced difficulties at school with learning, it wasn’t until seeking help for her own children that she discovered at 38 she was severely Dyslexic, she has also dealt with sensory and audio processing issues from a young age. Some of the incredible benefits that have resulted from peiec®️ have been the ability to overcome her Dyslelxia and she very rarley experiences issues around sesnory and audio processing.

As a teen Jennifer was blessed to have been given her own horse Bertie. He was an older gentleman with a cheeky personality, a rather wide tummy, big brown eyes and a beautiful nose who endlessly forgave her lack of skill and knowledge. He also never seemed to tire of endless hugs, kisses, treats and grooming. He was a caretaker, her very first equine teacher, a wonderful friend and he provided her with one of her life’s greatest gifts; the love of horse!

It was during these years Jennifer experienced the beauty of horses, her father owned a horse property and had a herd of 7 horses. It was during this time Jennifer was able to waste away time with the herd, while she learnt the beauty of their interactions, communication, community care and how they discharge energy from a percieved survival threat response. It was also at this time she grew to understand the importance of the gift she had received. As she grew up she saw other kids loosing their way, finding trouble and not having a place to belong. It was at around the age of 17 that Jennifer had the idea of one day bringing horses and troubled people together. She understood the lessons horses had to share, but she also knew she would require her own life lesson’s to be able to understand the journey of others. It become a written goal that by 40 years old she would peruse this simple dream.

The Kindness Project was started in 2015, the year Jennifer turned 40! She actually moved her 2 precious children, dogs, cat and horses up to Perth 4 days before her birthday and has set about providing a safe space for people who need horses to come and find themselves once again. It has certainly evolved and grown from that first thought and Jennifer hopes it is always a space of personal growth and learning so that she can provide the safest and most intuitive space for others in need.
